Rothesay, Isle of Bute counselling service

Holly Harding Counsellor

I’m a trauma-informed counsellor offering one-to-one support for individuals aged 16 and up. My approach is gentle, person-centered, and rooted in empathy, genuineness, and acceptance. I hold a SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling and Group Work (COSCA-accredited) and am a registered BACP member. With experience across anxiety, depression, grief, and caregiving stress, I create a safe space for reflection and healing. Sessions are paced to suit your rhythm—whether you're navigating personal change or emotional overwhelm. Recovery isn’t straight forward; you don’t need the right words—just a desire to begin your journey.

Calming therapy space in Rothesay

Healing doesn’t happen all at once. Like the tide, it moves in rhythms—sometimes quiet, sometimes powerful, always your own.

If you’ve found your way here, it may be because something inside you is asking for change, for relief, for space to breathe.

That voice—however faint—is brave. It’s the beginning.

We understand that trauma leaves echoes, and that pain doesn’t always speak in words. Here, you are not asked to be anything but yourself. You are not broken. You are not alone. You are met with warmth, respect, and the belief that healing is possible—on your terms, in your time.

This is a place where we walk beside you. Where your story is honoured. Where the courage to reach out becomes the first step toward recovery.

Together, we navigate the ebb and flow. We hold space for the stillness, and we celebrate the movement. Because healing isn’t a destination—it’s a journey. And you’ve already begun.

Let this be your starting point.

The tide is turning. The time is yours.

Here, on this island of quiet defiance, we honour the slow turning of tides and the resilience of stone. Time does not rush us—it holds us. Healing is not loud—it’s steady, like sea against shore. We meet each moment with grace, rooted in heritage and held by the rhythm of change. This is a place for restoration, reflection, and the quiet courage to begin again

Home visit for In-Person Counselling

One-to-one counselling with care, clarity, and emotional safety at its heart.

This 50‑minute counselling session is delivered in your home, offering a calm, confidential and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and experiences at your own pace. Home‑visit sessions are available for clients who may find it difficult to attend in‑person appointments due to mobility, health, caring responsibilities or anxiety.

Before confirming a home visit, I carry out a brief assessment to ensure the environment is suitable for therapeutic work. A quiet, private room is required for all sessions. Travel fees may apply depending on location.

My approach is person‑centred and CBT‑informed, focusing on empathy, collaboration and helping you understand patterns in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Together, we work towards building resilience, clarity and emotional wellbeing.

Before confirming a home‑visit appointment, I carry out a brief suitability check.

This includes asking who lives in the home, who may be present during the session, and whether anyone might arrive while I am there. This helps ensure a safe, confidential and uninterrupted space for therapeutic work.
